This is the blurriest case of military tradition I ever know. 170 Swiss soldiers wander across neighbor’s border while conducting a training exercise, spark an embarrassed diplomatic incident. It will be interesting how the Premier is going to explain this, the commander that leads the troop? God bless him! (

Luckily for Singapore, there is a strait of johore as the border. Else you will also see our NSF hollanded over to malaysia.
Trust me... losing your way in forest is very common among man in green.
hahaha, skali we conduct river crossing or beach landing exercise, then we landed on Johor!
and they will just kbkb as usual.
During peace time, this will only sparks a good laugh.
But in time of tension, this could spells disaster.
But DK, you make me worry, you said it is very common. I cannot understand how our military defender can be so casual in national border, or so not interested.
Chillycraps, FYI, there are cases that SG aircraft 'wanders' across MY border, and into JB, off course, you know what happen next.
your "aircraft" do you refer to military aircraft?
hmm, am i supposed to expect some surprising answer? such as... no response from m'sia...
I heard our fighter jets have to do a sharp turn the moment their wheels leave the runway...
Blog-hopping through chillycraps' blog got me here...
Just wanted to add on that, if I'm not wrong, a Singapore Navy or Coast Guard patrol boat strayed into Malaysian waters before and the Malaysia authorities wanted to accuse us of espionage but the Singapore Government replied that they cannot be conducting espionage because they were in uniform and were travelling in a boat which had obvious Singaporean markings on it.
I think, in the end, the case just got forgotten, just like MM Lee's previous "off-side" comments about Malaysia & Johor...
Chillycraps, it was a fighter jet alright. My source was diplomat from both side have some kind of meeting regarding this inccident.
But I heard more such 'inccident' occured.
About the sharp turn of jet after take off, I believe it was meant to be a joke. Just to indicate how dramatic it was during that period.
LCC, What I know was, Singapore Navy wanders across foreign waters to conduct training in many occassion. It never spark any politic stituation though, as this is very common at sea.
Espionage or not, every country do it while in/near foreign water. Its just not publicly admit.
